Next up at the Museum of Contemporary Photography (MoCP), at Columbia College Chicago, is a predominantly Chinese exhibition entitled, “Third Realm,” which captures nearly a decade of artistic production in Asia (2007-2013). Put together by FarEastFarWest, a Shanghai-based organization that commissions and acquires contemporary Asian art, the collection uses photography, film, installation, and performance to disrupt binaries — of global and local, present and historical, spiritual and secular. Featured artists include Birdhead, Cao Fei, Comfortable Collective, FX Harsono, Hipic, Jompet (Agustinus Kuswidananto), Sutee Kunavichayanon, Surasi Kusolwong, Domingo Milella, Gary Ross Pastrana, Paola Pivi, Alessandro Sciarroni, Sun Xun, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Xijing Men, Yang Zhenzhong, and Zhou Xiaohu. Explore the collection from October 10 – December 22, 2019. For more information, go to: mocp.org.
