The grand and globally popular Rijksmuseum — museum of the Netherlands — located in Amsterdam’s Museum Square houses a wide variety of national treasures that reflect 800 years of Dutch history as well as iconic Dutch masterpieces, including art by Vermeer, Frans Hals, Van Gogh and perhaps most notably Rembrandt’s ‘The Night Watch.’ To accommodate Chinese guests, the cultural landmark has developed a free Chinese-language multimedia tour app that can be easily downloaded to mobile devices via the App Store or Google Play. Interactive floor plans and directions take museumgoers from stop to stop, where each work includes a 3D audio clip and animation with surprising details about the collection. Users can also swipe, scroll, zoom, pan and save artwork images as well as purchase tickets and check in on new exhibits and general information — all offline. For details, visit rijksmuseum.nl/cn/general-information-chinese.
